DIY Cymatics - Sound wave patterns in water and non-newtonian fluid

I love the corn starch + water non-newtonian fluid trick and I love interesting uses of water vibration patterns. The combination is mind-blowing. Here are a few more examples. Even just water vibrations can be beautiful.

I haven’t loved fluid this much since the ferromagnetic fluid sculpture.

Actually, it’s not just fluid that’s interesting - salt on a flat vibrating surface makes a series of incredibly interesting patterns as you increase the frequency.

Oh, and the classic water-walking video got a treatment from mythbusters.

You might remember that I’m excited about technology that makes people more aesthetically creative. I made this picture with the Harmony drawing tool. Also exciting is Flame.

Technologically imbued sense of perfect direction

There must be other such senses that could be created similarly.  IMHO, this is a much more interesting direction for augmented reality research to go in than the massive glasses overlays we’ve seen so far.

A long walk across China

Man shaves head, walks across China for a year, grows beard & crazy hair, and takes daily photos and short videos of himself along the way, which he stitches into this.
